It wasn't too long ago that the Bruce Springsteen song, "American Skin (41 Shots)," provoked outrage from police officers in New York. The song was inspired by the real-life story of a West African immigrant with no criminal record, who was killed by some plainclothes officers investigating a series of rapes and robberies. Of the 41 shots that were fired, 24 hit their target.
As Springsteen put it, "Ain't no secret my friend/You can get killed just for living in your American skin."
Now there's a new chapter in the story, according to this item by the Associated Press: "NYC to Pay $3M Over Man Shot 41 Times." A good settlement, but not enough to revive the unfortunate victim . . .

this just goes to show that america is still racist and just cuz yor black they suspect you for being a robber or a rapist or whatever, there is no price when it comes to life no matter how many million dollars.
