Do You Miss Law School? I don't, despite some fond memories of particular people, incidents, and situations that I hope to write about one of these days. In the meantime, I enjoy reading humorous law school anecdotes like this one from transmogriflaw.
Jeremy Blachman Posts About BloggerCon For those who don't know, BloggerCon is a "conference of bloggers" taking place right now at the Berkman Center at Harvard. According to Jeremy, it involves "sitting in classrooms listening to people talk about how weblogs are transforming the universe." I agree with Jeremy's take on weblogs, which he says is underrepresented at the conference: the technological nuts and bolts may be important, but weblogs will live or die based on their content.
Do You Believe Everything You Read? Some people do, even if they're reading The Onion. It was a post by Dylan at The Slithery D that led me to this entertaining article about the phenomenon of readers-who-take-The-Onion-seriously. (A problem for another day: readers who believe what they read in "real" news sources.)
It's Not Proust-Remembers-Petites-Madeleines, But It's Not Bad Here's another recent post from The Slithery D that caught my eye: "Musical Memories," which links familiar popular songs to Dylan's own memories. It's the sort of clever idea that makes a great blog post.
Don't Bring Your Children to Law School So says Screaming Bean, in addition to other don'ts: "Do not allow your children to take over the lounge and turn it into a child fort and bogart the television. Do not bring your child to class and allow them to come and go as they wish." See 4/15 post.
Those Up-All-Night Blues As an undergraduate, I once skipped two nights of sleep in a row. It's the sort of torture that helps one remember to improve his time-management skills. But when you use that torture as fodder for art like Michael from BuffaloWings&Vodka in his post "Notes from MemoLand"--now that's something. (By the way, Michael is soon making the move to a Typepad-hosted site. A good decision, in my opinion.)
More Blogs From Next Year's 1L Class Check out nat-a-law (thanks to Jim Dedman); Scoplaw (thanks to ambivalent imbroglio); Naked Drinking Coffee; and Mother In Law (mentioned on this blawg several times before). Finally, as Arbitrary Aardvark reminded me, Will Baude of Crescat Sententia will soon be a 1L. I apologize for not mentioning Will before, but he writes with such authority that I have trouble thinking of him as just starting law school.
This Week's Extreme Wit at the Law Schools Award™ Goes To . . . Oh, what the hell, BuffaloWings&Vodka again for the post "My Day in Court." See 4/12 post. It may not be your kind of humor, but it's mine. (By the way, I'm becoming strongly biased each week in favor of BuffaloWings&Vodka, Jeremy's Weblog and Mixtape Marathon--so if you think I'm missing any witty posts, including your own, please send me an e-mail. Or maybe I should give those three blogs Lifetime Achievement Awards so I can forget about them for awhile. Except that I don't want to forget about them. Oh, the stress of blog-reading!)
