Ernie the Attorney on Ivan the Hurricane

When we heard from Ernie yesterday, he told us he was "staying put" in New Orleans. A little later in the day, he was driving through the empty city, listening to classical music. He planned to return home after the curfew to "read some Hunter S. Thompson and sample a nice bottle of Cabernet."

Was Ernie in denial? I don't know, but today, there aren't any new updates.

Ernie, are you there?

UPDATE 9/16/04 10:49 CST: Ernie checks in.

New Orleans came through the storm relatively unscathed. We had a few power outages, but not enough to spoil the food in the refrigerator.
