Dennis Kennedy of DennisKennedy.blog, meet Tony Pierce of busblog.
Why the introduction? Not long ago, Dennis announced a change on his weblog--he said readers should "watch for more frequent references to songs and long lists of my favorite songs." Meanwhile, poking around on Kevin Heller's Tech Law Advisor, I came across a link to Tony Pierce's great post, "How to Blog," which includes the reminder that "nobody gives a rat ass what song youre listening to."
I don't know what that means for Dennis's idea. I thought he and Tony should spend some time hashing it out.
Personally, I like to know what music others are listening to. For example, I recently read a post by Curtis at Singing Loudly about Drive-By Truckers--now I have almost all their CDs.
Related Post: Online Introductions: Bekah, Meet Carolyn.

I usually don't give a lawyer's butt what folks are listening to, but I'm curious if anyone is grooving on "Moon Shadow" or "Peace Train" this morning. And, is Scheherazade visiting with Cat Stevens in Maine today?

it's funny. of all the "rules" that i gave, that one is the one that most people disagree with.
basically i was talking about people (mostly kids) who begin each post with
wearing: a & f shirt
mood: mopey
listening to: coldplay
if someone wants to write a post about what a great cd the new DBT released, fine. or even a sentence or two about what makes it great, fine. but in general i think that what song youre playing on your ipod is basically not important cuz its usually top 40 and bad.
with that said i love the drive by truckers and im glad everyones getting turned on to them.
rock on!

I'm glad you are enjoying Drive-By Truckers. Aren't they a treat? A few years ago everyone was worried that music had been forever tainted by boy bands and whatnot. Bands like Drive-By Truckers affirm that there will always be good music out there.

Curtis: I don't know what it is about your taste and your weblog, but I also bought Art Spiegelman's book "In the Shadow of No Towers" after you posted about it. I'm enjoying it too.
