ERNEST AND RAY . . . Ray Ward of Minor Wisdom got out of New Orleans; Ernest Svenson of Ernie the Attorney didn't.
Though I haven't been reading any weblogs today, I've seen plenty of images of the hurricane damage on CNN and the other networks. As someone who used to live in New Orleans (my favorite city in the world), and who has traveled all over the Mississippi Gulf Coast--well, it's not easy to watch.
Good luck to Ernest and Ray, as well as all the others.

My 'rents buckled down on the Eastern Shore (of Mobile Bay) and ended up making it out fine. It looks like NO got hit pretty hard, but not as bad as they were fearing. Mississippi got the brunt of the storm, with 'Bama getting a lot of wind and rain (downtown Mobile is under water, but that's par for the course with every hurricane).
I'm with you on New Orleans - it's by far one of my most favorite cities in the country. I really hope everyone and everything turns out ok down there.

Best wishes to everybody affected. Ernie, you okay? Let us know if you need anything. Red Cross and everybody else is supposed to be on top of things, but some things are more personal.
Eh N.
