GADGET UPDATE: the Atari Portfolio . . . All right, so it's not really a gadget "update." It's more of a trip down memory lane. The Atari Portfolio was introduced to the world in 1990. The picture below was scanned from an issue of Personal Computing that I recently found on a shelf with my old law-school outlines--
Specs: "Fits in your palm and weighs less than a pound." MS-DOS compatible. Comes with "five important applications": a Lotus 1-2-3 compatible spreadsheet, a word processor, and address book, an appointment diary, and a calculator. 128K internal RAM.
"Runs for weeks on three AA batteries." Price: $399.95.
I'm not sure how the Atari Portfolio handled that whole Y2K thing, but you can probably buy one on eBay and find out for yourself.

This Atari Porfolio currently has a high bid of $10.49.

I am sitting in Evan's presentation on Blog writing at BlawgThink in Chicago. Couldn't resist noting that Evan is writing about OLD technology. If you want to learn about NEW technology, check out FutureLawyer.Com.
