STARTING YOUR OWN FIRM . . . There's a new weblog called The Practice that bears this tagline: "Helping law students and lawyers learn everything they wanted to know about law practice management, but did not learn in law school." It's a good resource for anyone thinking about starting their own firm. Example: "Before you open your own firm: Part 1."
The Practice is just one of many new "solo and small firm blogs," as Carolyn Elefant terms them in her recent post, "Have We Reached The Solo Practice Tipping Point?" As Carolyn says, "The rise of biglaw mergers hasn't quelled the growing interest in solo practice; if anything, it's heightened it."
