MILBERG WEISS INVESTIGATION: NOT OVER YET . . . For those who've been following the federal investigation of Milberg Weiss and former partner William Lerach, here's the latest from Law.com: "Lerach Probe Obstacle: Lawyers."
About the transactions that are most likely the central focus of the investigation, many are apparently scratching their heads. According to the article, "[W]hile the government says such transactions were criminal behavior, lawyers say there's nothing inherently strange about a firm receiving money for a client, holding it in trust, and paying it out as the client asks."
