TV-ADVERTISING LAWYER JAMES SOKOLOVE GETS A BOOST FROM THE SOPRANOS . . . I didn't see last Sunday's episode of The Sopranos until tonight, and I got a surprise at the 50-minute mark. When Tony Soprano is flipping channels on his TV, you can clearly hear a snippet of a TV commercial from "Attorney Jim Sokolove."

When the show ended, I did a check on Google and saw that the Boston Globe had also noticed Sokolove creeping in where no lawyer really belonged:

Something sound familiar during ''The Sopranos" Sunday? While James Gandolfini's character was clicking through the channels, Jim Sokolove's ceaseless TV pitch came on -- and it may not have been an accident. ''About a year ago, I spent a lot of time researching product placement," said the Boston barrister. ''My best guess is that one of the companies I talked to . . . made the placement."

Wow. That's some creative advertising. It makes me wonder how much Sokolove would pay to get placed on this weblog. For the right amount, I'd even do a post about that time he showed up on the Soprano's . . .
