CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR WEALTHY LAWYERS . . . What do you get for the wealthy lawyer who has everything . . . who's already got, say, a big-ass yacht or perhaps a giant jet finished in gold?
That's easy. You buy him an island. While that used to be difficult, now it's as easy as surfing the Internet. Simply visit Private Islands Online, where you can buy your favorite wealthy lawyer Garip Island, Turkey, for just $20 million, or perhaps (for those on more of a budget) Saltonstall Island, Michigan, for $582,500.
When you're shopping, however, remember not to put a bid on the three Mexican islands offered for sale. Reportedly, they're protected by the Mexican government for their important ecological value. It's caused sort of a controversy in Mexico that I first read about here (sorry, no English translation), then noticed again in an article (same) I saw in La Raza last week in Chicago.
According to the first linked article, the government of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo (where Cancún is located) has opened an investigation into the matter. Stay tuned!
