Sites like this one give the Internet a bad name. A lot cheaper than Apple I-Tunes, my 14-year-old daughter wanted me to sign her up, so we could legally download music and avoid getting sued by the music industry.
Looks good, seems to have a lot of music available, but it turns out to be a scam--you pay $30 for your "membership," then they let you download a bit of software that directs you to use Kazaa. That's what everyone is trying to avoid!
A search on Google Groups turns up plenty. The hunt is on for the owners of the site, so tons of angry people can sue. Turns out, however, they're probably in India.
I just downloaded it last night. Sent me to kazaa. I just get the run around sending me back to kazaa everytime that I try to use it. Bad news don't use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't you call your card issuer and have them withhold payment? If it's really a fraud, you shouldn't have any problem...

Bennie, the first thing you must do, and this is imperative: STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS. Once this has been done, consult someone other than a lawyer (say, a computer technician) for help in burning CDs.

Kaaza is the same company as Easymusicdownload. It's all a scam. I got ROBBED of 41 bucks Christmas eve. I didn't get sofware or anything. The tech support is broken asp code. I filed charge, but it'll be months till I might be able to get my money back. I thought kaaza was kazaa. Damn a's!

Signed up with Easymusicdownload 1/05, working fine for me, download is slow but I am currently using dial up. I've never been directed to Kazaa, etc. I would recommend to others. Haven't used the movie download section yet.

I downloaded EasyMusicDownload.com yesterday and it's a complete waste of money. I thought it was Kazaa Lite and so bought it for £30. All i got was a shit website and links to download Kazaa,Limewire etc. If anyone has found anything that it says in the introduction that it does not provide, such as virus free downloads, please contact me so I can get the money back on insurance.
Thankyou,
Sanchez
Avoid this website!

I had signed up for easymusicdownload.com in Jan, '05,, and though it is a slow, for I have dialup, I have been able to download a lot of songs. Yet, if it is not legal, I don't want to be a part of it.

I signed up for easymusicdownload.com in February. It is working, albeit slowly. Many songs found in "Search" will not download and come back as "No source." This makes me concerned that site is illegal but how would you know? I have never had problems described by others - I can always get to site, have never been directed to another site that I'm aware of.
I did try to cancel after reading info like this - but got an email back from site saying that when you pay, you have agreed to a contract and that if you cancel your Visa payment, they will fine you $55 and report you to credit bureaus.

I signed up for thedownloaderplace.com which has given me the same problem tou have got with the easy... and it is a complete fraud. I haven´t been able to download a single song! Is it possible to sew them?

UUUGGHH!!! I downloaded this software three days ago, and it is a RIP-OFF!! Everyone beware - I am so furious I could scream. And their "help/support" section is a joke. No matter what you try to post, it just tells you to check out Win XP SP2. I downloaded some sort of files - supposedly mp3s. NONE OF THEM PLAY!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe I purchased this. I feel so stupid!

I just called my Visa card, and one suggestion is to contact the US Better Business Bureau in addition to Visa's Dispute department. That dept. is closed on weekends so tomorrow morning I am contacting them then go from there. Someone above posted that they were "threatened" with a $55 fine and be reported to credit bureaus. DO NOT fall prey to this - it is a pure scare tactic on the company's part. They MUST be brought down!

I have been using easymusicdownload for the past 3 weeks and have managed to get about 70 songs...not bad for dial up. I don't know where all the problems are coming from on the other posts.

I have been looking at the easymusicdownload.com and was thinking of buying a subsciption but then I came accross this site. I can't understand why it works ok for some people and not for others.
Posted by: joe | August 17, 2005 at 02:45 PM
What to do: Call your credit card company once the charge has been posted (they can't do anything before that). Make a formal complaint. Have the bank send you an affidavit. It needs to be filled out and sent back within 10 days. The complaint will then be reviewed. Also PLEASE contact the Better Business Bureau and make a complaint. If enough of us do, there will be an investigation and these cons will be shut down. Meanwhile, keep in mind that whatever idle threats this company makes towards you and your credit, they are the ones in violation of the contract as they have not delivered.

JUST about to sign up to EasyMusicDownload and came across this site and all these negative responses. Thanks alot guys! Being new to the www I'm still a bit naive but this has opened my eyes wide and saved me a lot of hassel. How come though the website is still posted over a year after the first complaint?
Posted by: THE FONZ | October 11, 2005 at 04:41 PM
Yup! I also got scammed except it didn't send me to Kazaa but some other P2P Software that can't connect to the network. The support is feeble and suggests it's a problem with your firewall settings. I will be lodging a claim wiht my card provider. And signing the affidavit etc.

easydownload (MP3-Xtreme) worked slow but worked for several months, difficult to use all features. Last week stopped connecting. Contacted technical services - listed issues resolved at installation-SP-2, router et al. Suggested new router aid 29.95, and security aid 29.95. Nothing new just stopped working. Recommend avoid.
