The proper tone for a law blog, I've always believed, is dry, serious and professional, like the senior partner who thinks someone might be looking. That's why I was interested to know what the law blogs were doing on April Fools' Day. Any blawg authors up for a joke?
Well, at 6:30 a.m. CST, it seems that few blawg authors are up, period. I suppose I'll have to update this post as the day goes on. So far, we have Jim Dedman, who is "too exhausted" for any hijinks; Jeremy Blachman, who writes about April Fools concepts but remains one step removed from an actual prank; overlawyered.com, where every day could be April Fools' Day; LawPundit, where there's a post that seems like it could be an April Fools gag for really smart people, but isn't; and Texas Law Blog, which warns "no jokes here."
C'mon, people! You can do better than that.
Updates: Erik J. Heels posts some "Parody Law" articles (link from Denise Howell); Tech Law Advisor is "on the lookout for potential hoaxes"; De Novo does April Fools, at least in its upper right-hand corner; ethicalEsq is under new management; and Scheherazade says "I am real" (I believe her, by the way) in an April 1st post that's anything but a prank.
[Sob] I already am a joke!
