Weblog of the Week: The Lawyer Writer
Why I Like It: It's not only because its author, Neeraja Viswanathan, said something nice about this weblog once. The Lawyer Writer has a combination of an interesting theme, an irreverent tone, and an author who can provide the blog-goods, even though she's only been at it a little more than a month.
I hope The Lawyer-Writer sticks around for a long time. Neeraja posts from New York City, where she's a writer and the on-air legal correspondent for MNN's Politically Upside Down. She's also developing a TV show based on her book The Street Law Handbook: Surviving Sex, Drugs, and Petty Crime. In her first post, Neeraja described her weblog's themes:
I am an attorney-turned-writer, and I have a sneaking suspicion that there are many of us out there. Or many who would like to leave the hallowed, hollow profession of law to enter the impoverished, absurd life of writer. So basically, I'm writing about my oddball career choices. Hopefully it will be funny, but as for fiercely educational, well, we'll see.
Neeraja's formal bio, as well as a photo, can be found here.
Recommended Reading:
1. Neeraja writes about celebrity-sightings in New York, and describes one of her own unfortunate brushes with greatness.
2. Neeraja, whose bio says she's currently at work on a book about "the sexiest films of all time," posts about the new documentary, Inside Deep Throat.
3. Neeraja writes about attending a "Secession Event" thrown by her "ex-editor" at High Times, Buffalo Mailer--before the event, and after.

I've moved the posts in the weblog-review series to the "Blog Reviews" category. You can find the others there.
I like this feature, Evan. And I love this new blog. She's been added to my aggregator. Thanks for the tip.
